Good night, my sweet GRAYScale.
For those of you not in the know, GRAYScale was a design blog set up by my good friend and flatmate Jonathan Lewery at the beginning of the summer. The basic premise was a series of projects to keep us Gray’s student’s design lobes working over the holidays. Every two weeks a new title would be posted which could be interpreted any way we saw fit, with the submissions published as a blog post at the end of every fortnight. Despite a strong following at the beginning, submissions rapidly declined and sadly, the project was called off.
Unfortunately I am not without blame. I only managed to submit for one of the half dozen or so projects and for that, Jonny, I still apologise. The title for this particular fortnight was “You Shall Know Our Velocity”, taken from the 2002 novel by Dave Eggers. My submission wasn’t even particularly inventive.
It was a book cover.
